there are rumors about a first pressing batch of 500 copies with "...you are" runout etchings in Side AA instead of the common "Elipses U.R."does anyone here own such a copy?i am in doubt that it even exists since it never shows up anywhere.since "U.R." is an common abbrevation for "you are" this may be just a misinterpretation.

I have never seen one. I'd bet on the "you are" not existing

This is from a post on the bad religion fan site (the poster was in touch with Jay Bentley):http://www.thebrpage.net/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=6504&PN=2&title=7-bad-religion-ep"Apparently there were indeed 2 pressings. Jay is 100% positive that the first pressing was "we're not bad religion..." "...you are", and the second press was "we're not bad religion..." "ellipsis u.r.". As he remembers packaging them, it means that they made it passed the test press stage. Also Brett remembers doing 2 pressings. The only uncertainty is whether the 500 were part of the 1500 total or not.. as it would make sense that the first 500 we're followed by 1000.The mystery of never having seen one of those 500 remains...."

Poor quality pressing thin vinyl prone to skating. A huge disappointment.

Greetings and salutations. I was simply wondering if anyone could shed some light on this EP. The fansite thebrpage.net has very little info. Neither does the seller on eBay at the moment. If only I could afford it. Anyway, The Original Bad Religion 12", please discuss.

My guess? This came out in 84 the year After BR released 'Into the Unknown' which was their infamous and very poorly received new wave/prog album. It was such a flop they actually released an EP called 'Back the Known' in an attempt to distance themselves from it. So seein' as how this was released shortly after that I think it's probably just saying: don't worry, this isnt that new wave shit, it's the BR you love. Just a guess. Makes sense tho. Like the Coke original forumla seal. You get it.

http://www.thebrpage.net/discography/variation.asp?varID=254http://www.thebrpage.net/theanswer/?article=bad_religion_(the_first_e.p.)Differences: 12" vs 7""The Original" text on the albumA different mix than the original mix.Not much really more to say as to material differences. It's just a 12" reissue of the original 7" ep from 1981 with a different mix. And i don't know how many were officially released.
